上海虹橋國際外籍人員子女學(xué)校成功舉辦家長教學(xué)說明會

On Thursday, November 14th, another Parents Session was organized by the school at HQIS Rainbow Bridge Theatre. The topic of the workshop was "From HQIS to Top Universities", and more than 70 parents were present. During the parent session, parents were able to get more familiar with how HQIS prepares the student for academic excellence.
11月14日(星期四)，上海虹橋國際外籍人員子女學(xué)校劇院成功舉辦了本學(xué)期又一場家長教學(xué)說明會，主題是“從HQIS走向世界名?！?，共有70多位家長熱情參與。通過本次教學(xué)說明會，家長們更加熟悉了HQIS如何培養(yǎng)學(xué)生取得優(yōu)異的學(xué)業(yè)成績。
The first part of the session “What is concept-based learning and Why” was led by our PYP Curriculum Director Ms. Robin Long. After a brief introduction to her personal background as an educator, Ms. Long introduced to parents various methodologies related to building the personal profile of the student, covering aspects such as resources, opportunities, motivation, and inspiration. Ms. Long emphasized the importance of the IB programme:
說明會的第一部分“什么是以概念為中心的學(xué)習(xí)，我們?yōu)槭裁催@樣教學(xué)”由學(xué)校PYP課程主任Ms. Robin Long女士主講。作為一名資深的教育工作者，Robin 女士向家長介紹了建立學(xué)生個人檔案的各種方法，包括資源、機會、動機和靈感等方面。她強調(diào)了IB項目的重要性:
“The International Baccalaureate programme aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world. This takes a commitment from our students, it demands creativity and appreciation. It calls us to be principled members of the world, and it pushes us to take action.”
“國際文憑項目旨在培養(yǎng)具有探究精神、知識淵博、關(guān)心他人的青年人才，幫助創(chuàng)造一個更美好、更和平的世界。這需要學(xué)生的投入，需要創(chuàng)造力和欣賞力。它要求學(xué)生成為有原則的人，并且采取行動?！?/p>
The second part “What is skill-based learning and Why” was introduced by HQIS Upper School Curriculum Coordinator Mr. Weiqi Zhang, and it focused on thedevelopment of the students’ skills, what types of skills are needed and how they change over time. He emphasized the need to adopt new and modern pedagogies and what International Education for Excellence is:
說明會第二部分“什么是以技能為中心的學(xué)習(xí)，我們?yōu)槭裁催@樣教學(xué)”由HQIS初高中課程協(xié)調(diào)員張偉琪先生主講，重點介紹了學(xué)生技能的發(fā)展歷程，學(xué)生需要哪些類型的技能，以及它們?nèi)绾坞S著時間的變化而改變。他強調(diào)我們應(yīng)當(dāng)采用 全新的、符合時代的教學(xué)方法，從而追求卓越的國際教育:
“When we start with International Education, we have to start with the right mission. We have to know where we are going as a whole school, whether it is for high school students or nursery. We need to match the School Culture to the 21st Century needs, aligning a school’s structural components to that mission, moving from What to Teach to How to Teach.”
“當(dāng)我們開始國際教育時，必須從正確的使命入手。學(xué)校作為一個整體，無論是初高中還是幼兒園，我們都必須知道我們的目標(biāo)。學(xué)校文化應(yīng)當(dāng)與21世紀(jì)的必備技能相匹配，學(xué)校組織架構(gòu)與使命相結(jié)合，從教什么轉(zhuǎn)向如何教?！?/p>
There were also moments of interaction, when the audience asked questions about the topics covered during the presentation. It was undoubtedly a successful and content-rich Parents Session. We would like to thank all the parents who attended. We also invite parents to join the Parents Sessions the school will hold in the future.
